Cretarhabdus inaequalis Crux, 1987
The placolith comprises a cretarhabdid pelaga sloping towards the central area, formed of inclined segments that are typically weakly clockwise-imbricated, though rarely non-imbricate, and a distally arched central area occupied by irregular quadrilateral-shaped pores.
Falklandolithus inaequalis is characterised by first-order, white interference colours that are more intense than those observed in other species of the genus. In plan view under crossed polars, the pelaga shows inclined extinction and length-fast (–) elongation.
