Basionym

Discolithus octoradiatus Gorka, 1957

Optical Properties

In plan view under cross-polarised light, the wall shows constant extinction, while the axial cross displays first-order white interference colours and symmetrical extinction at an angle of approximately 45°.

Remarks

Species of Ahmuellerella are characterised by a single wall, an inner proto wall, and a central axial cross consisting of four paired arms diverging from the centre towards the wall.
