Discolithus multiporus Kamptner, 1948
Discolithina multipora (Kamptner, 1948) Martini, 1965
Pontosphaera multipora is noted for having a proximal plate with pores arranged in three concentric cycles and additional, randomly arranged pores in the centre, a defining characteristic of the species that distinguishes it from other Pontosphaera species. The similar height of the wall and distal cover results in uniform interference colours (first-order white), which is an essential characteristic for identifying this species in the plan view in XPL. Pontosphaera multipora exhibits laevogyre-inclined extinction at 68° on the distal side and length-fast elongation.
