Discolithus embergeri Noël, 1959
Optical Properties: The outer wall shows length-fast (-) elongation, while the proto-inner wall and distal process show length-slow (+) elongation in the side view.
Large species of Zeugrhabdotus exceeding 8.0 μm are characterised by a wall visible distally and a central area spanned by a transverse bar that supports a massive distal process. When observed in a mobile mount, the side view shows that the distally widening outer wall obscures the distally tapering proximal proto-inner wall. In contrast, the genus Gorkaea features a distally gently widening, fully developed inner wall that partly obscures the distally tapering, very narrow outer wall.
