Etymology

In honour of the late Hélène Manivit (France), in recognition of her contributions to taxonomy and biostratigraphy of calcareous nannofossils.

Diagnosis

A circular to elliptical loxolith composed of a single protolith wall, a protruding proximal rim, and a central area that may be either void or spanned by various structures.

Description

Optical Properties: The wall and rim of Helenemanivitia exhibit first-order white interference colours in both plan and side views. This species displays inclined dextrogyre extinction lines, typically at angles around 77°, with length-fast (-) elongation on the distal side.

Remarks

Placing this genus within any known family or order is difficult.
