Scyphosphaera globulata Bukry & Percival, 1971

Description

Spherical species of Scyphosphaera Lohmann (1902) having a narrow circular base and a heavily ornamented wall. The wider distal opening has a simple termination. The longitudinal ribs predominate the lateral ribs on the outer surface of the wall.

Remarks

Scyphosphaera globulata differs from Scyphosphaera hamptonii da Gama & Varol (2013) by being spherical in shape rather than cylindrical in shape.
