Description

Having a triangular body that thickens toward the centre. Its surface is covered with numerous circular pores, which are surrounded by a hexagonal ridge.

Remarks

Lithostromation perdurum is distinguished from Lithostromation biconvexitas Varol (1984), Lithostromation operosum (Deflandre in Deflandre & Fert, 1954) Bybell (1975) and Lithostromation simplex (Klumpp, 1953) Bybell (1975) by being triangular with spine-like projection at its vertices. Lithostromation biconvexitas is ellipsoidal in shape with two spine-like projection; Lithostromation operosum is spherical in shape, whilst Lithostromation simplex is hexagonal in shape.
