Pontosphaera huxleyi Lohmann, 1902
Species of reticulofenestrid have slits between all the segments of the distal shield and between some segments of the proximal shield.
Emiliania differs from Vonsalisia Varol, 2019 by having slits between all the distal shield segments, whereas the latter has slits between some segments only. This is a monospecific genus but shows some variations in the central area structure.
