Amphizygus minimus Bukry, 1969
Amphizygus microminutus Hattner & Wise 1980
Small species of Amphizygus differs from the other species by having an additional birefringent inner wall between the outer wall and the yoke cycle. The pores are easier to see under phase-contrast or bright field. There is no evidence for the distal process. Amphizygus minimus may need to be transferred to another new genus as suggested by having an additional inner wall and possibly lacking distal process.
