Grantarhabdus bukryi Black, 1972a
Small (<8.0 µm) species of Grantarhabdus characterised by a symmetrical diagonal cross.
The entire species exhibits first-order, slightly greyish-white interference colours. The pelaga of Grantarhabdus bukryi exhibits inclined extinction and length-fast (-) elongation in its natural settling position, as seen in plan view under crossed polars.
Grantarhabdus bukryi is distinguished from Grantarhabdus coronadventis by its smaller size.
Grantarhabdus bukryi differs from the Berriasian to late Hauterivian Grantarhabdus quadratus in having a larger central area and narrower shields. Moreover, Grantarhabdus bukryi is separated from Grantarhabdus quadratus by a large stratigraphic interval.
