Retecapsa tridentata Wind & Wise in Wise & Wind, 1977
Species of Retecapsa comprise a cretarhabdid pelaga enclosing a broad central area spanned by a well-defined axial cross that bears a distal process. The longer arms of the cross trifurcate adjacent to the pelaga, producing two small lateral pores that are markedly smaller than those formed within the central area. The shorter arms are likewise furcate but do not generate pores.
Retecapsa schizobrachiata exhibits first-order, greyish-white interference colours. In plan view under crossed polars, the pelaga shows inclined extinction and length-fast (–) elongation.
