In the plan view, Braarudosphaera bigelowii exhibits length-slow (+) elongation.
Species of Braarudosphaera with a pentagonal outline consist of trapezoidal segments. In Braarudosphaera bigelowii, the sutures between segments meet the periphery off-centre, whereas in Braarudosphaera regularis Black (1973), the sutures meet the periphery at the midpoint.
