Coccolithus deflandrei Manivit, 1966
Watznaueria manivitiae Bukry, 1973f
Very large (>12.0 μm) species of Cyclagelosphaera have a closed central area and often display first-order yellow to second-order blue interference colors.
Bukry (1973f) introduced Watznaueria manivitiae as a substitute for Coccolithus deflandrei because Watznaueria deflandrei (ex Actinosphaera ) had already been transferred to Watznaueria . The large and circular forms are commonly and correctly assigned to Cyclagelosphaera deflandrei . In this case, the substitute Watznaueria manivitiae lacks a holotype (or shares the same holotype with Cyclagelosphaera deflandrei ).
