Type Species

Micula decussata Vekshina, 1959

Remarks

Cuboid calcareous nannofossils exhibit sutures delineating blocks resembling a cobbler’s anvil, best observed under a scanning electron microscope, and feature a small central cross. The blocks of Micula display parallel extinctions with length-fast (-) elongation.

Micula differs from Bowmania in that its blocks have length-fast (-) elongation, while Bowmania has blocks with length-slow (+) elongation.
