Micula decussata Vekshina, 1959
Micula decussata, a cuboid species, exhibits blocks resembling a cobbler’s anvil with a small cross aligned with the blocks at the centre. Both the blocks and the central cross display parallel extinction and length-fast (-) elongation.
In this study, Micula decussata is preferred over the superficially similar Micula staurophora, as the holotype of the latter is represented by a drawing in a constant extinction position characteristic of a Micula. This detail strongly indicates that Micula staurophora is a distinct species, potentially originating from the Eocene.
