Type Genus

Stephanolithion Deflandre, 1939

Remarks

Loxoliths consist of a protolith outer wall that remains in constant extinction under XPL, while the protolith, overlapped or imbricated inner wall, exhibits interference colours of varying intensity in the plan view. Axial or diagonal crosses or bars often support a distal process that ornamentally structures the central area.
