Pontosphaera anisotrema (Kamptner) Backman, 1980, p.54, invalid according to ICN Art. 41 (when published, combined with the invalid genus Coccolithites).
Pontosphaera species have low walls nearly equal in height to the distal cover over the proximal plate, producing a uniform interference colour in plan view under XPL. The proximal plate exhibits larger pores in the outer concentric cycle compared to the inner concentric cycles.
