Discolithus vigintiforatus Kamptner, 1948
Pontosphaera vigintiforata (Kamptner, 1948) Proto-Decima et al., 1978, p. 573 [invalid combination according to ICN Art. 41.5]
A species of Pontosphaera exhibits uniform interference colours in the plan view in XPL, resulting from the similar height of the wall and distal cover over the proximal plate. Pontosphaera vigintiforata features a proximal plate with pores arranged in two complete concentric cycles, with additional randomly arranged pores in the centre. The species displays first-order white interference colours, laevogyre-inclined extinction lines with a typical extinction angle of about 68° on the distal side, and length-fast (−) elongation.
