Koczyia lepida Boudreaux & Hay, 1969
A large Pontosphaera species is characterised by a relatively high wall with a flange (flaring) at its distal end and a proximal plate featuring tiny pores arranged in approximately fifteen transverse rows. The apparent angle between inclined extinction lines is 81°, corresponding to an obliquity angle of 9° on the distal side.
Pontosphaera lepida is distinguished from Pontosphaera erythrathalassanica by the presence of a flange (flaring) at the distal end.
